Methods of Payment:

 

  • Cash -  In person
  • E-check - must have SJSU Student ID or User ID number and password in order to access Student Financial in http://my.sjsu.edu
  • Check, Cashier's Check or Money Order - Pay in person, by drop box or by mail. Your name, local telephone number where you can be reached and SJSU ID number - not social security number - must be on the face of the check.

If the bank for any reason dishonors a check, the registration is subject to cancellation. Classes may be dropped immediately without prior notification.

A $25 fee is charged for the first returned check and $35 thereafter. An addititional Administrative Fee may also be charged. SJSU has no control whether the bank sends checks through a second time for clearing.

Any delinquent outstanding charges owed to the university will be submitted to the Franchise Tax Board for tax return offset. If your account is refered to an external collection agency, you wil be responsible for additionl collection costs and attorney fees. Also, your account information may be reported to the credit bureau.

  • Credit Card Payment - Available online only at www.ou.sjsu.edu. SJSU student ID or UserID number, date of birth and term required. There is a 2.75% service charge. Master Card, American Express and Discorver/Novus are welcome online. Credit cards are not accepted in persion at the Bursar's Office cashiering window.
  • ATM Debit Card - Pay in person at the Bursar’s Office.Student ID number required.

  • Third Party Sponsor - A purchase order or payment authorization must be attached to this form showing the sponsor’s name, contact person, address, telephone number, fee, course title and start date. Incomplete Third Party registrations will be returned. Faxed P.O.’s are accepted; however, an original with attached registration is required to follow by mail.

Late Registration Fees

An additional period after the deadline may be granted to students with extenuating circumstances. A $45 late fee will be assessed depending on your late registration date.  Refer to the Open University calendar for specific dates. Billing statements will
not be sent. Failure to pay fees by the due date may result in classes being dropped without notice.

Fee Receipts

You may use a printed copy from your student account to present to an employer for reimbursement or for tax reporting purposes.

Student Record Holds

San José State University has authority to withhold registration privileges for any student with an outstanding cashiering debt. If a cashiering hold has been placed on your records, your registration will not be processed. To resolve the debt, please call the Bursar’s Office at 408-924-1631.
