Grading System

Grades at San José State University are differentiated (A B C D F) or undifferentiated (Credit/No Credit). Student standing in each course is expressed by one of the following grades:

            A+, A 4.0                C+      2.3                D-      0.7

            A-      3.7                C         2.0                F         0.0

            B+      3.3                C-      1.7                 WU      0.0

            B        3.0                D+      1.3

            B-      2.7                D        1.0

“A,B,C/No Credit” shall be used in English 1A, 1B and Junior level Writing Workshops (100W).
