For new students only. Returning students go to Step 2. Go to http://my.sjsu.edu/ to create your ID and password. You have the option to do this (1) before the first day of instruction, print out the final page and show it to the instructor for permission to enroll for the class or (2) after having instructor’s permission and ready to enroll for the classStep 1

Obtain course information
• View Open University courses at http://ou.sjsu.edu/class-schedule
• Verify that you meet the prerequisite requirements
Attend the first class meeting and confirm space availability
Obtain required permissions
• Obtain instructor’s verbal permission to add the class
• Obtain permission number for classes requiring department consents
Step 5:
Beginning the first day of instruction, using 5-digit class number, enroll for your class (Earlier enrollment will not be accepted)
• Note that late registration incurs additional fees and procedures. Refer to the OU calendar for deadlines and late fees.
Pay fees after registering for the class
• Billing statements will not be sent. Failure to pay fees may
result in classes being dropped. It is important that you pay
by the due date to prevent your classes from being dropped.
• Refer to payment form for payment options and instructions
• Payment is due upon registration after Payment due date (See Open University Calendar)
An Open university student, undergraduate or graduate, who wishes to take graduate level courses
A regular student who was disqualified at the end of the previous semester
A student that missed the registration deadline
Obtain course information and forms
• View Open University courses at http://ou.sjsu.edu/class-schedule and obtain forms at http://ou.sjsu.edu/forms/fall-2009-reg-form.pdf
• Verify that you meet the prerequisite requirements
Attend the first class meeting and confirm space availability
Obtain ALL required signatures.
• Obtain instructor’s signature at the first class meeting
• Obtain the Associate Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research signature at the Student Services Center if you are taking a 200-level course. Exclusions for enrollment in 200-level classes: (1) disqualified students and (2) those who were denied admission into a graduate program.
• If you miss the registration deadline, obtain the additional required signature of the IES Associate Dean. See OU Calendar for details.
Beginning first day of instruction, submit completed registration form at the “R” counter in the Student Services Center by the registration deadline (Earlier submission will not be accepted.)

Obtain your SJSU ID number
• Obtain your SJSU student ID at the “R” counter in the Student Services when you submit your registration form
• If you mail-in or fax your registration, recognize that payment is due immediately
