Disqualified Students
The
Student Resource Center
staff will hold several reinstatement workshops. Call 408-283-7500 for times
and locations.
Disqualified
students may not take more than six units per semester through the Open
University program unless an advisor has approved the additional units. The
total usually may not exceed 9 units.
An authorization for excess units form may be obtained from the Student Services Center. This form must accompany the registration form. (Business students may substitute a photocopy of an approved program of study advisor’s recommendation.)
SJSU
disqualified students wishing to use Open University courses for reinstatement
must complete a program of study before beginning classes. Otherwise the
selected courses will not be accepted for reinstatement. Forms are available at
the Student Services Center
or at the major department.
If
you intend to repeat one or two courses under provisions for Academic Renewal
(AR) you must complete a petition form and submit it with the registration
form.
Disqualified students from other institutions are exempt from these requirements. However, we suggest that you learn and follow the requirements at your campus.
A disqualified graduate student is not permitted to enroll in graduate (200 level) courses. Also, courses taken for the purpose of reinstatement will not be applicable toward the requirements for a master’s degree.
