If you are a disqualified SJSU undergraduate, you may petition to repeat courses in which you received a C-, D, F or U for the purpose of academic renewal. Repeating a course for academic renewal does not remove the previous grade from your transcript, and only the most recently earned grade prior to academic renewal will be excluded from the computation of the grade point average. Only the grade earned for academic renewal is the grade of record. Academic renewal must be approved at the time of registration in the course.

There are limits to the number of units you may take through academic renewal. This option is not available to graduate students.
